The Opportunity:

We are seeking a personable HR Advisor/Officer with effective communication and relationship building skills to join the small yet growing, dedicated and talented team at Lola.

A generalist HR advisory role supporting the business and HR Lead to deliver the company strategy by providing guidance to both managers and employees on a range of human resources issues, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, pay and reward, learning and development, compliance, and policy implementation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong administrative and organisation skills with an interest in embracing technology to support the development of the HR function. A knowledge of employment legislation will assist in the design of clear and fair HR practices that are in line with requirements while also contributing to the development of a positive and productive workplace culture.

Role Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Day to day contact for employees and managers regarding all people related issues.
  • Provide first line guidance and support on employee relations matters, including absence, holiday, performance, development, well-being etc.
  • Provide advice on handling performance issues and offer solutions for improvement.
  • Actively listen to any employee concerns or incidents and make recommendations for resolution.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Assist in the recruitment process and developing recruitment campaigns.
  • Work with the recruiting department to ensure relevant job descriptions, advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, and arranging and supporting with screening interviews.
  • Obtaining references and Right To work Checks
  • Developing and Co-ordinating the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the company culture and processes.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Assist in the development and communication of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Advise and support employees and management on compliance matters, including employee rights, benefits, and other legal obligations.

Performance Management:

  • Support managers in implementing performance management systems, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development.

Training and Development:

  • Focus on the retention of staff by identifying training and development needs within the organisation.
  • Support in the organisation of training programs and employee development initiatives as required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Support in the development of the company benefits package and reward structure.
  • Assist with salary benchmarking and help ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases, and systems.
  • Co-ordinating the appointment process for successful candidates
  • Ensure timely and accurate HR documentation, such as contracts, policies, and employee handbooks.

HR Projects:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects, such as HRIS implementation, Reward and benefit structure, employee engagement, wellbeing programs, and diversity initiatives.
  • Recruitment – support with exploring and implementing online opportunities to manage more recruitment in house – e.g. Linked In, Proficiency in social media
  • Work experience/Placements/ Interns – developing external links to facilitate opportunities for students.
  • Intranet – support with growing the HR presence on the company intranet.

  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and employee databases desirable

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred or relevant work experience.
  • Additional HR certifications (e.g., CIPD) are desirable.
  • Previous experience working in an HR advisory or generalist role preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and employee relations essential
  • Experience or interest in the automotive or motorsports industry preferred.
  • An understanding and experience of engineering/automotive/ motorsport desirable
